“Is Airtable your main thing?” I was asked at Thanksgiving. I wanted to answer with something spicy, but wimped out. “Everyone you know is going to laugh at what they used to try to do with spreadsheets.” I predicted, “You can have millions of dollars of custom business software that otherwise would take years to develop, for free in a matter of hours. It’s no longer a secret.”
Although my bet is placed, I don't know who will win the low-code arms race. But I am absolutely certain that when you walk into a coffee shop in the future, the screens on everyone’s laptops will not be running Google Sheets.
